Dahlia POT PLANTS - Paeony

Dahlia POT PLANTS - Paeony

Paeony dahlias have single flowers with two or more rings of largely flat florets surrounding the central disc.  With their relatively simple conformation and open discs they are attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.  With their vibrant colours and graceful foliage they brighten gardens and integrate well into borders providing elegance and colour from midsummer until the first frosts.  They are popular as patio plants and look good as cut flowers arranged in a vase.

Probably the best known of this group is the perennially popular Bishop of Llandaff, with its crimson flowers and dark bronze foliage.  Developed in Cardiff and first introduced in 1924 it grows to a height of between 90 and 120 cm with 5 to 7.5 cm flowers.  It looks good alone in a pot on a patio and associates well in beds and borders.  They look stunning as cut flowers in a vase.  There is now a group of eight ‘Bishops’ with different flower colours but with similarly dark foliage, all of which are featured in our collection.

Our Dahlia POT PLANTS are available from APRIL until JUNE
